ORIGINALITY - AZ-1/Cara Downpipe (PG6SA/PG6SS)

from $500.00

Ditch that restrictive atrocity of a factory downpipe for a shiny new free flowing one!
All the cool Japanese pipes of the day were made under ridiculous names typically in all caps. I shall call mine ORIGINALITY! :)

Available in these flavors: no catalytic converter, with an Akrapovic inline catalytic converter or BOTH?!

The pipe is a 2 piece design for ease of installation and modification/replacement of the high flow catalytic converter. The high flow cat is an Akrapovic unit. (In many regions, local regulations may require the presence and use of a catalytic converter.)
Please check your locality for rules and regulations, the straight pipe should only be off road/track use only.
The lower half is available individually if you did not buy a full set originally and wanted to add on the second half.

This is a bolt on mod without needing other mods to use this. If you are looking for more power, this pipe can only help with the flow and make it even better. Gains from any tuning or additional boost would be able to take advantage of this pipe even more so than stock.

Designed and made in USA

This is a full kit.

-The pipe and flanges are made of stainless steel
-It will have the sections of pipe selected
-New turbo side gasket
-New muffler side gasket
-New hardware
-Two pieces of heatshield for the shifter cables
-Piece of wire with a ring terminal for grounding
-Stainless V-Band for attaching the 2 halves together
-Approximately 4ft of 18 gauge wire and connectors for grounding the apple

Horsepower gains: - View the dyno charts further down.

Catalyst pipe is about 4.5% gain vs stock
Straight pipe is about 12.6% gain vs stock

If you couple an N1 computer with boost at 1.1bar you’ll hover just about 100hp with this pipe. See dyno graph below

Weight Comparison: - Up to 4.5lb reduction

OEM:
Missing one catalyst stud total: 9.209lb/4.177kg
Upper section downpipe: 4.377lb/1.985kg
Catalyst missing one stud: 4.832lb/2.191kg

ORIGINALITY:
Straight total: 4.688lb/2.126kg
Catalyst total: 5.372lb/2.436kg
Upper section downpipe: 2.081lb/0.943kg
Lower section straight/catless: 2.607lb/1.182kg
Lower section catalyst: 3.291lb/1.429kg

Unfortunately even though this is designed for the F6A DOHC motor, I don’t believe this will fit any other vehicle than the Autozam AZ-1/Suzuki Cara. We looked into how the Suzuki Cappuccino and Suzuki Alto pipe looks and it’s just not the same. There might be hope for the Alto but will require extensive mods at least starting with a radiator relocation.

These have to be ordered and will have 1-2 month lead time or less. (usually longer for the catalyst version since these are not stocked by the shop and have to be ordered)

A purchase of this is a custom order, if you change your mind after the parts are ordered it will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. Thank you for understanding.

stock baseline dyno

Stock car baseline dyno run in 3rd gear. Let off after 6500RPMish since power was dropping already and I was running out of fuel.

Same stock car with ORIGINALITY Straight vs Catalyst version. The higher figures were the straight pipe catalyst delete version. The lower numbers were the catalyst version.

Thanks to Sam Patel for retracing and overlaying the dyno lines together for easier reading.

Installation instructions in video format and dyno results.

You may avoid removing the engine mount and loosening the swaybar with the center subframe mount if you choose to cut/bend your exhaust heat temp sensor. (This part is likely rusted onto the stock catalyst and is deleted when ORIGINALITY is installed.)
The removal of the sensor will trigger the catalyst overheat (Apple pie ready) light. It can be turned off by grounding the connection or removing the bulb from the cluster. (Grounding the wire is easier. I have instructions in the video below)
This sensor is not tied to the ECU it is simply a warning light on the dash. You could choose to drive with it on if you don’t mind.
