Rusty Floor Repair - Completed May 2022

Oh one of the biggest cancers of the car world. Rust. Once it starts, it is ruthless until the parts most precious to you rot away and crumble. Yes I had to learn how to weld to fix this. Of course I started to learn on the hardest stuff to weld, sheet metal. I am still not complete as I have not had time to do get welding but boy I am close. The most difficult section with the 3 floor circles are left. Part of me wants to take the easy route and just weld in a flat piece there as those circles serve no purpose after manufacturing. However I do want to keep them so that is what I will try to do. If I botch it then there’s no choice and I’ll take the easy way.

Either way you guys will get a final video showing what you can do and some amateur way of how to weld sheet metal to fix your rusty floor if you have the same issue!

I will probably tackle this during downtime in the winter when the car hibernates due to the salty roads up here in New England.
